On Monday, we had a visit from District Governor Vern Nielsen.  Rotary International is organized into geographic "Districts."  Ours has 60 clubs ranging from Clearwater, BC, down across the US border to Prosser, Washington.   Each year, a new District Governor is appointed, and this year ours is Vern, from Kelowna.

At the club meeting Vern talked about his health challenges and the journey he is facing. He considered stepping down from his position to concentrate on his health but decided that Rotary is part of his family and he needs his family during this difficult time in his life.
We were lucky that Vern was here to inducted a new member, Stephanie Wishart, and to present a Paul Harris Fellow award to Lisa Nobbs.
