Sunday, July 9 was Pioneer Day at Haney Heritage Park.  There were special celebrations for Canada's 150th Birthday, crowned by the ribbon cutting and opening of the Montebello Building.  The Montebello Building is a special design that incorporates shops and their facades from early 20th century Salmon Arm.

This special building was constructed with funds, 75% of which were donated in cash and in kind by individuals and businesses in the Shuswap.  The Rotary Clubs in town have together donated together $35,000 so far to this project.

On hand were local dignitaries to cut the ribbon - Mel Arnold, Greg Kyllo, and our own member, Mayor Nancy Cooper.  Also participating in the action were our Club President Martin Ketteringham, who sang in the male voice ensemble, and Judy Linkletter, who played in the community band.
