Our speaker on March 2 was Kathryn Vennard, a partner at Brooke, Downs, Vennard LLP in Salmon Arm. She updated members on new Land Transparency Legislation, spoke on the importance of having up-to-date wills and making sure the executor knows where the will and other relevant information such as passwords or accounts is located. She also pointed out the dangers of putting others on bank accounts and property titles, advising that power-of-attorney is the best route to managing finances & property.
