13 year old Everado Ismael Perez Perez is a student in the scholarship program at Colima,. Mexico.  He is one of about 60 junior high school students who receives funding from organizations such as Rotary clubs that enables him to continue attending school through the secondary grades and beyond.  Everado is responsible for maintaining a GPA higher than 8.5, performing 10 hours of community service a month. attending a weekly homework club, and writing to sponsors regularly.  Our club sponsored Everado last year. Every month we received an engaging letter from him in which he told us about his family, his school and his life in Nuevo Naranjal, Mexico.
This school year, in addition to Everado, we are sponsoring 12 year old Jesus Manuel Chavez Cano, who is in his first year of junior high and lives in Queseria with his parents and six siblings. Jesus wants to be a police officer when he grows up. He says he is grateful to Project Amigo for the school supplies, uniform and backpack that he has received for the school year, and he is excited to be part of the scholarship program. We are looking forward to receiving his letters.
