The speaker at the August 14 meeting was new member Cory Booker, who presented his bio.
Cory was born in Trail but moved with his parents almost immediately to Vancouver, where he lived for a few years.  When he was 10,  he and his mother moved to Smithers, where he attended school through Grade 12.
He moved to Victoria in 1994, where he completed his degree in Computer Science.  There he met his wife, Shannon Kiehlbauch, and because she grew up here and her family is here, they moved to Salmon Arm in 2004.  They have two little girls – Dana, 5 years old, and Clara, 1 year old – and a dog and a cat!
Cory's business – Faster Than Light Computing – specializes in computer networking support to small and medium sized businesses.
In his spare time, Cory likes to mountain-bike and to spend lots of time with his family.
