At our Dec 4 meeting, Gordon Bose, Thompson Okanagan Regional Director of BC  Search and Rescue Association and Training Officer of Salmon Arm Search and Rescue, outlined the training and work done by our local Search and Rescue Association.
Seen here with member Isabel Reinertson who thanked him for his presentation,  Gordon outlined the training volunteers undergo to become skilled rescuers in emergencies involving ground rescue, rope rescue, avalanche safety, swift and flat water rescue and tracking. His presentation was comprehensive and very informative. We now have a much better understanding of the work and training the volunteers go through to be able to help others caught in circumstances beyond their control, and we are indebted to them for their dedication to this undertaking.
