Our regular noon club meeting was held via Zoom  on Monday 20 April. Our speaker, Len Youden, works with the CSRD doing free hazard assessments of homes & properties and offering advice on ways to reduce fire risks.

Len's presentation focused on the Wildfire Disaster Cycle and ways we can protect our homes from becoming fuel for raging forest fires.

The CSRD specifically has a program that assists home owners with FireSmart Assessments, Rebates for work you do to reduce your risk and how neighborhoods can become nationally recognized as 'FireSmart'. This is an important and very relevant topic for any resident of BC but in particular, the CSRD has identified Wildfire as our #1 Natural Disaster Risk.
